Christmas Décor

I just had to share this, one of my gifts this year...a christmas village based on "A Christmas Story", one of my favorite movies EVER! Luckily, I don't take down our decorations until after New Year's, so I get to enjoy them for a week. Now, I just have to get the neighbor's house, the Theater, the Police Station...

  1. What a great present. It will be fun for you to keep collecting pieces.

I triple dog dare you to have a happy new year!

  2. Those are really nice & I love the pictures! Such a playful use of depth of field.

  3. Those are the greatest, also one of my favorite Christmas movies.

  4. I didn't know there was such a thing. How cool!

  5. Zoey: too, I've already started perusing Ebay...this could be dangerous ;-)

    Andrew: all I need is a 50mm prime ;-)

    Alison: Mine too!

Sue: I know, we spotted them last year, but they were too expensive, I guess this year, he found them cheaper...lucky me!

  6. Was this on your wish list or a complete surprise? Either way what a fun gift. So where is the "fragile" box? Surely that's part of the set?

  7. One of my favorite Christmas movies! I still remember laughing and laughing just hearing about it from my sister-in-law some years ago. Now it's a family tradition to watch it. Love that village!

  8. Those are awesome!!! We put up Dickens Villages every year, but I like yours better!! We may have to develop a new, modern neighborhood to fit in those houses!

  9. What a fun present that I'm sure you will enjoy for many years to come. Have fun adding to your collection now... lol ;)

  10. Danger: It was a total surprise...I squealed so loud! It certainly is...I'll have to snap a few pics of the other little bits and pieces :-)

Ginny: I know, it brings back so many good memories!

TS: hahahahahahahahaha...that sounds like a zoning issue.

    perennialgardener: i surely will :-)

  11. Here ya go, Scott. I lived in/around Cleveland all my life....

  12. Oh great, lovely christmas decoration.

Just like to share with you a life quote...

"I love my past. I love my present. I'm not ashamed of what I've had, and I'm not sad because I have it no longer. " -- Colette

  13. That's so detailed and adorable... your photos make me feel like I could walk right up!

Your Joe Pye post would be an appreciated addition to the next issue of How to Find Great Plants if you're interested in participating again. I've changed it around a bit since the inaugural (and experimental) first edition. The deadline is 12/31 and here's the new link about how to enter:
