  3. LOVE these pics, the kitty at the end is my favorite :) Do you have a list of public gardens (Japanese, Lan Su, etc.) and nurseries that will be on the Fling tour?

  4. Is it worth it? I would love to know. I have taken some baby steps towards creating a blog; perhaps I should wait a year, though I wouldn't mind having an excuse to go to Portland. Have you attended? Txs. V much enjoy your blog. Sarah

  11. Oh no, Kathy…if it makes you feel better, it's getting pretty chilly here too…we might even get a good amount of snow this weekend…YIKES! Are you coming to the Fling, do you think???

  15. Sarah…it's TOTALLY worth it. Last year's Fling in San Francisco was the first one I went too…and it was a blast…so much fun…really made me wish I'd been going to the other Flings in previous years. If you can swing it, I think you'll really love it!

  16. We do have a tentative itinerary planned, Tamara…we will release it soon…as soon as we can really confirm all the little bits and pieces…be assured, it's going to be a FULL 3 days!

  20. YES YES YES! Scott, you take such wonderful pictures. I had to stop and gaze at each one. Now you really did tease us with that autumn scene at the Japanese Garden - 'cause we are going to be there in July, you know. ;-) But based on that image alone I know I have to come back in October someday. http://www.penick.net/digging

  21. Oh, the plants are wonderful, but Boots is the cat's pajamas (you should pardon the concept). I am so excited about the Fling

  22. I would come but it be a wee bit far from Australia! I enjoyed my little fling when giving talks in Portland a few years ago! You have a splendid garden community. Good luck with it! www.wigandia.com

  23. I've already registered and bought my plant ticket. :) I'm coming down early to visit family before the Fling. Excited!!

  24. I wish I could. I look forward to reading everyone's blogs and their experiences with the Portland fling.

  25. Hi Scott, I'm a Portland gardener and just tried to check out the Fling on your site. I guess it is not taking any more inquiries? Is there a way I can attend?...I just learned about it today from my friend Tammy at Casa Marisposa. My blog is just one year old at: www.life-change-compost.com and you can reach me at susie@troccolo.com. Thanks!

  26. With those pictures how can we not come? Will be my first time in Portland, and I am very excited about seeing all those PNW gardens. I hope your garden is on the tour, but if not Judy and I still want to see it!

How I wanted to go to this but I am hoping my mother will be coming for a long overdue visit....I will have to check it out online.

  28. I wish I could. I haven't been to Portland since 1979 and my visit there - in February - was so short, I never got to see anything. I'll have to wait till the Fling is back on the East Coast - I didn't know about the Flings until after the one in Asheville, NC and I'm still kicking myself.

I have been following the Fling posts for some time and would love to be able to go someday but it is a long way from the east coast. I will have to live it vicariously through all of you for now. :) http://landscapedesignbylee.blogspot.com/

  30. Great photos, as always.

  31. With photos like these, it's a wonder the airlines have any flights going from west to east during this period.....won't be able to make it this year, travel budget drawn to 0 with trip to England, but do hope to meet up with folks when they come to Toronto in 2015!

  34. I think everything said was actually very reasonable.
However, what about this? suppose you composed a catchier title?

I am not suggesting your content isn't good, however what if you added a title to possibly grab people's attention? I mean "Garden Bloggers Fling - Are You Going!?!" is a
little plain. You should glance at Yahoo's home page and
see how they write news titles to get viewers to open the links.
You might add a related video or a picture or two to get people interested about what you've got
to say. Just my opinion, it would make your posts a
    little bit more interesting.

  35. There are a lot of objects you should use allowing you to create a number
    of styles on the floor.
I find it incredible that a number of people invest
a lot more hours playing facebook games than their
    PS3.
